Ramak Abadi

Ramak Abadi currently works as a PhD researcher at the Department of Mechanics of Materials and Constructions (MeMC), Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She got her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a research project focused on investigating the effect of welding diameter and depth on the fatigue life of a friction stir spot welded lap joint. She also got her master's degree in mechanical engineering, applied design. Her thesis was titled "fracture toughness determination and finite element analysis of aluminium and polymer adhesively bonded joints". Ramak's research interests include fracture mechanics and fatigue. Further, she is interested in using and combining experimental and finite element techniques. In her current project, she is investigating thermoplastic composites' behaviour in the molten state with numerical and experimental tools.
