Maité Lacante
Biography
Maïté Lacante obtained her Master’s degree in Civil Engineering at Bruface (ULB-VUB). The subject of her Master’s thesis was the autogenous and thermal strains of alkali-activated slag paste at early age. After graduating in 2021, she started her PhD at ULB, where her research centers around the study of volume changes of alkali-activated materials in sealed conditions. This includes exploring autogenous deformation, thermal deformation (coefficient of thermal expansion), and heat release. Additionally, she investigates the potential mitigation effects of limestone filler and metakaolin. In 2023, Maïté joined MeMC to continue her research on alkali-activated materials, specifically by using acoustic monitoring techniques.
