Jianqun Hao
Biography
Jianqun Hao is a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Mechanics of Materials and Construction at Vrije Universiteit Brussel since February 2025. He received his master’s degree in materials mechanics from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (China) in April 2020. After a brief stint in industry, he began his PhD at KU Leuven in March 2021 and obtained his degree in January 2025 with a dissertation titled “Characterization and Prediction of Creep Behaviour in Flax Fiber Composites.”
His research focuses on the experimental characterization of fibre-reinforced composites, with expertise in fibre-matrix interface analysis, long-term durability assessment, and non-destructive testing techniques such as acoustic emission, digital image correlation, and X-ray computed tomography. He also explores the integration of machine learning in composite materials research.
