Ines Chaouki
Biography
Ines Chaouki graduated from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and obtained her master’s degree in civil engineering in 2024. During her last year, she got acquainted with lightweight composite materials during a semi-elective course. This interest nurtured her ambition to start a PhD at the MeMC department in composite materials. In September of the same year, Ines started her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Lincy Pyl. The research focuses on composites with thermoset resins and is part of a bigger project involving two other academic institutions and an industrial partner. The research has as its purpose to evaluate the recyclability of these composite materials throughout multiple cycles and therefore contribute to the durability of these materials.
