Erich Meiners Munoz
Biography
Erich Meiners Muñoz graduated with a degree in civil engineering from the University of Guanajuato, Mexico, in 2014. He began his career as a site manager on infrastructure projects, a role he held until 2017. He then transitioned to the steel structures construction industry, where he worked as a project manager and later as the tendering manager until 2021.
In pursuit of further specialization, Erich earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the BRUFACE program at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, completing his studies between 2021 and 2023. His master's thesis, titled "Proof of Concept of Employing Artificial Neural Networks in the Structural Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Planar Frames: Replacing Layered Beams," was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Peter Berke from ULB.
In October 2023, Erich joined the MeMC department as a PhD student, working on the European project RECONSTRUCT under the supervision of Prof. Tine Tysmans. His research focuses on the design and optimization of a lightweight, modular floor system using textile-reinforced concrete (TRC) sandwich panels.
